The other day on TV, was a movie called “Inspector Gadget”. Heh, brings me back to good old childhood days. I remember the Inspector Gadget cartoon and it was one of my favourites then, apart from Care Bears, Smurf and what nots. The movie wasn’t to my liking though, somehow. I haven’t done any design work lately, but since I am at the topic of Inspector, I’ve got something done many many months back which was inspired by the subject. Just a still. Just an impression.
Was given this title to work on some months ago. Sexuality! Hmm..daunting. Forum on SEXUALITY?! Hmm..doubly worrying. How can I portray this event in poster – comically? seriously? fun and easy? I couldn’t decide, which led to a few days of research and thinking. Finally this was what I came up with, you be the judge!
One night’s work, painting the Buddha’s face was manageable but the hair was UNSPEAKABLE! Ok, ok.
I shall yield. The hair was merely curly challenged. “The greatest patience is humility.”
A friend will be delivering a talk on Relativism this month. Got this poster done for his talk. Had a nasty prat fall from my attic staircase just before I sat down to work on this piece. What a painful reminder of the war on truth. Ouch!

Funny how sometimes when you don’t plan or think that hard, ideas come or flow through. It was such for this, a simple thought of the cross in abstraction begun and spun the web of thoughts into brushstrokes. A very different style to my whimsical series.
A friend commissioned me for a little project recently. She’s moved in to a new house and want an art for the living. Something whimsical, she said, and anything is fine. I’m posting this page just for that, a brainstorming of ideas for this project. Hopefully, something whimsical comes by and that she’ll find something she really likes.
Downloaded some photoshop brushes and wanted to put them to use. I must have been in a cave all these while, never downloaded any brushes before! A little search I did and found a phletora of beautiful brush creations out there by generous artists and designers. Here’s a word of thanks to Stephanie Shimerdla for sharing the paisley brush set. I came up with two floral fun piece inspired by the batik concept.
