It’s been a busy week. Just finished with my beading project for a charity sales coming up next week. It’s a CSR project undertaken by a company to raise funds for a shelter of old folks and orphans this Christmas. To make merry the mugs and food stuff, I am participating in the fund raising with my beads. Not quite sure if they will sell well but a little something is better than none. Here are some pictures and a beaded cross for me, myself and I. *winks*

There’s so much buzz about swarovski crystals lately. So I thought it would be fun to experiment my cross design with it. Here’s an evolved version of my beaded cross design. A little less funky than its primitive, tad refined elegance that speaks of a cross within a cross concept. I have done a variety of colours for these, unfortunately, this is the only one I have recorded in picture…

As promised, the sequel to composition at work. This time, it is typography and composition. The studio was turned into a sea of mess, paper and magazines everywhere. Yet, the session yielded very creative results. *clap clap* to all my students.

So, after much deliberation, the angpow design was finalised to something like this. We will make it a goldpacket instead, with a slot in bookmark/calendar of Our Lady.

Whether it is sunny side up, scrambled or hard-boiled… I love eggs. So much so that ‘eggies’ became a significant theme for a moonlighting project a year or two ago. Having done so many egg-cellent and egg-citing graphics of these eggies, I painted two of my favourite onto canvas. Presenting the eggies… *clap clap*

It’s my second trimester coordinating MMF1123 Beta. What I love most about Beta is all the fun and freedom of design and animation, without 3D. In this class, students explore composition the “handy” way before finalizing the design in the computer. Here are some snapshots of the recent “composition” workshop. Watch this space, composition workshop part II coming soon…

Chocolates… these sinfully delectable cocoa bars are great gifts but often they are wrapped like one would do wrapping a book. My personal preference is wrapping over the original chocolate wrapper, expose the foil and finally tie with a ribbon. *YUM* (Makes a great party favour if your table needs more vibrant colours or shades)

One of the first few things I made when I started beading was that of a cross. To spare you the agony, I won’t show you the first prototype as it was a disaster and utter failure. Ha ha. Anyhow, after that I got hold of some proper materials and bead parts which resulted to this first cross design. Though I have made many different designs following that first attempt, this is still my favourite. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find back the same beads I have used (the aquamarine blue ones..) consequently I have not produced anymore of this. Fully hand-made with wire, the drawback is that the cross can bend. So handle with care.

At the grocery store one day, I stumbled upon my all-time favourite childhood candy, Chupa Chups. Is not that I do not see it other days, but on that particular day, I had an inspiration. So, I plucked three lollies from the counter, added them to my groceries, paid and left for home. It’s probably 20 years or more since I last had one of these. Before I rekindle the taste of my childhood delight, here’s what I made with them…
Flower lollies. I used foamie sheets, slightly thick ones and cut them to the shape of a flower. Make a hole in the centre of the foamie cut-out and push the lolly-pop stick through it. No glue or tape is necessary. A great zesty fun decor for any child’s party.
