This ain’t Willy wonka’s golden ticket. This is the golden ticket concept for a golden years celebration poster design. I wished there was provision for ticketing, I would have loved to see this printed out as a golden ticket.

I recently did a publicity poster for an upcoming church event – Together Under One Roof, 24 hours in Love. This tagline “24 hours in Love” is extremely catchy, but downright hard to do! In 24 hours, I think I often encounter IRRITATION and FRUSTRATION which result to LOVE being jettisoned out of the window. In all the ups and downs of life, living a life of LOVE is after all a continuous journey. Let’s run to the finishing line with great HOPE and FAITH.

I went to LAMU exhibition today – Let Arts Move You, An artistic intervention in the midst of rapid city development. I must say the concept of hopping into trains, viewing art exhibits in and out of the train, from one station to the next was WOW. I love the concept.
Hence as their print connotes, “LAMU is a public art project that brings together the artists, the public transport and the commuters in a visual art event.” First of its kind in Malaysia, I applaud the brains behind the event (Kok Yoong & team) ,the sponsors for their support and all artists who have participated. Bravo!

Here’s announcing to the world that Eugene Beh, of Salt of the Earth (Lifeline Ministry) was the 100th visitor to my blog! “Eugene (10/23/2007 4:28:54 PM): ok i just became the 100th person to visit your blog. Eugene (10/23/2007 4:35:52 PM): so where is my prize? Haha.” Speechless for a moment, I then replied, “Uh, maybe I’ll post your name up on my blog?” *scratch my head*
Hence, here it is. A special dedication to the 100th visitor, and a visual to commemorate the auspicious coincidental event. (p/s: there are possibly a hundred flies in the picture and Eugene, you are one that came in as the 100th
) *grin*

There was a time I purchased boxes of Brand’s Chicken Essence. So basically, the chicken essence comes packed individually in little glass bottles, labelled and has a gold lid each. Typically, after consumption, mom would throw the glass bottles away, her excuse being less junk is good.
This time around, I secretly kept some. Haha. Finally after some months, I picked one up for a “creative make-over”! Here’s the result.

I was given an assignment – to come up with ang pow design suggestions for our church. Yes, Christmas is soon approaching, is about time to get busy with Chinese New Year preparations too! Father Simon suggested to have “stained glass” of Our Lady while I, the paper-cut-out fan, initiated and proposed the crafty paper-cut design. We may just marry the two ideas together… East meets west, interesting.

Ever heard of threadless.com? It’s a site for collection of tee shirts submitted and rated by public. Interestingly enough, it sounds like a tee-rific idea to me. I submitted two tee designs. The scores were:
Love stands out: 2.24/5
Cloud 9: 1.86/5
Not very promising in scores but received very interesting comments, especially on Love stands out. Many liked Love stands out. However, some preferred it to be without the speech bubble..what say you?
Not too long ago I was doodling these. Yes…just these. Doll faces with puffed up cheeks, heavy flocks of hair and petite lips. Don’t know what got me started on the curls and hair bits but it was definitely quite addictive. I drew the same thing over and over and over again. I have a whole bunch of these in my computer…heck… I thought I’ll put them to use as cards.

A quote reads, “A gathering of angels can enlighten the whole world”. Inspired by these creatures of light, I made this paper cut-out of an angel to hold/wrap a giveaway tea-light candle. Great for simple christening/first communion favour.
